REGISTRATION DAY AND ORIENTATION WEEK
– Monday, September 4th, 12:00-appx. 17:00
Concerning the Registration Day, it will be held at the main building of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, nám. Jana Palacha 2, 116 38, Prague 1, room 301 (3rd floor) on Monday, September 4th, 12:00-appx. 17:00. Short placement test & interview will be a part of the Registration Day. Continuing students are also expected to be present. On Tuesday afternoon you will receive information about your assigned group.
– Tuesday, September 5th, 10:00-12:00
CU ID cards are to be picked up at the Card centre at Celetná street no.13 after the Registration Day. As a part of orientation, those of you who will be present can join the group on Tuesday, September 5th, 10:00. Please do not forget to bring your passport. Your photograph will be taken that day.
It is also possible to obtain your CU ID card independently, but no earlier than after the registration documents are processed by the program administrator.
Please note that Czech Studies program enrolees are not eligible for STUDENT ID, as “student” status is by law reserved for degree and exchange students only. CU ID cards provide you with access to the University buildings and to wi-fi network.
– Wednesday, September 6th, 9:00-12:10/14:30-17:45: Úvodní jazykové lekce / Introductory language lessons at Na Příkopě 29
– Thursday, September 7th, 9:00-15:00: Povinná přednáška a cvičení z fonetiky / Obligatory Phonetics lecture and exercise (TBS based on the placement interview) at the main building of the Faculty of Arts (nám. Jana Palacha 1/2)
Regular classes will begin on Monday, September 11, 9:00-12:15 and will run on Mon-Fri until December 10.

COURSE FEE PAYMENT
Please note that the course fee is due by September 4, 2023. There are two payment methods available at this point:
- Online payment
- for the semester course fee payment (41.000 CZK), please select “CS Winter semester fee”, variable symbol/ID: 618000, payment note: 618000 + your full name + Czech Studies
- In person at the Faculty of Arts´ cash desk – payment in cash or by card:

Please send the payment confirmation to the Czech Studies program coordinator once you cover it!!!
In case you reconsidered your participation in the Czech Studies program, please inform the administrator at your earliest convenience at czechstudies@ff.cuni.cz.
ONLINE PLACEMENT TEST
We ask all students to complete the ONLINE TEST by August 31 (some of you may have already done it when submitting their applications) – in case you are a complete beginner, fill in the form here instead. (Please complete only what you really know, so we can place you accordingly)!
